MY DESIRE NEVERENDING
The Dolphin Project:
A Mission of Compassion

''A DOLPHIN'S SMILE IS NATURE'S GREATEST DECEPTION, IT CREATES THE ILLUSION THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS HAPPY!''
- RIC O'BARRY
The Dolphin Project is a global movement founded by Ric O’Barry, a man who once trained dolphins for the television
show Flipper—but who has since dedicated his life to protecting them. After witnessing firsthand the tragic consequences of captivity,
Ric had a profound change of heart. The loss of one of the Flipper dolphins, who died in his arms, inspired him to
expose the dark side of the marine entertainment industry and launch what is now the longest-running dolphin protection campaign in the world.
Since 1970, the Dolphin Project has worked tirelessly to end dolphin captivity, stop the brutal dolphin hunts in Taiji, Japan,
and rehabilitate and release dolphins back into the wild where they belong. Through education, advocacy, and direct action, Ric and his team continue to raise awareness about the cruelty behind marine parks and swim-with-dolphin attractions.
Dolphins are self-aware, intelligent, and social beings who suffer greatly in captivity. Many people simply aren’t aware
that what seems like a fun experience for humans is often a life sentence of confinement and stress for dolphins.
If you love dolphins, the best way to protect them is by refusing to support places that profit from their exploitation.
